<Honey would you be a dear and take over for me> skit always works. Aside from pleasuring me my lady must also be able to cook gourmet meals. I will return the favour in other ways believe me<she will be seen making canjeero early morning without anyone asking her to> _________________ "When you inspire to acquire what you desire, you shouldn't retire, but refire!" |

^^ To equate all that women are to cooking is to simply reduce women to caretakers who've failed in their role. If someone were to marry u solely on the basis that u can cook for him, he's not gaining a wife but a maid. There's more to a woman than just cooking, and I can vouch for Dawaco my sugar bun that she's worth her weight in gold in other ways. Don't wake up the sheydan in me. Cooking should be something BOTH genders should learn and not just one, and for the role to just fall on the woman all the time is to put us back centuries.
Dawaco my loof, u don't need to cook, keep smiling that million dollar smile, hook urself a man who will be dazzled by it, and hire Dee as ur live in housekeeper |

So I guess a marriage to you is out of the question
Thanks for the kind and informative replies, and also the not so nice and useless ones..
I want to learn the essential basics, while fajitas would be great, you can't have them every day
So far, I have almost figured out how to cook spagetie and sauce, have tried making a lasagna and decided it is unhealthy to eat so I should discourage people from eating it (ended up throwing away an oven tray during the lasagna crisis) Now I desperately need to learn how to cook rice
Do you have to use maraq to make rice? Can you use water? And when is it done? _________________ I am not vengeful, I just like to repay unkind acts in kind! |

For the past seven years and plus, I didn't cook anything at home. I only know how to make tea of reer gaalkacyood type. The price I paid for not knowing how to cook is that I spent the two-thirdth of my income for eating outside restaurents, mainly Arabian and Indian dishes.
Its very sad indeed to eat Pizza in late night delivery order, in the midst of great hunger, when you obviously cherish to eat for Bariis iyo Baasto, ama buskeeti iyo muufo! _________________ I love Somalia, but after Islam. |

Alle U, ayeyo why you don't learn how to cook? It's equal rights for man and woman to learn how to cook ...methinks

^sax ayeeyo, but the problem is whenever I try to cook, I feel laziness, plus If I cook successfuly, then evaporation and smell of the food causes my hunger to disappear. And later on, I don't feel eating anything, in other words, it kills my eppitate.
I don't know realy, tell me a better way to save my money and yet cook wisely. _________________ I love Somalia, but after Islam. |

| Dawoco, never ever cook maraq with rice. It's unecessary fat and this country has sick animals, spare yourself the crap. Use boiled water, from kettle, much easier and faster. |

lolz...can't or won't cook?....i have had nothing but good experiences around cooking food....learning with my mom and my grand mother...who r great cooks. it was a pleasure....we would cook together and everyone would eat together....and we would always praise the cook....so cooking is something i enjoy very much....to me its like any other skill....if u r going to do it....do it well and also enjoy it....and besides i don't have many oppurtunities to cook anymore being in school i live on very quick meals...soups, bread and salad. so when i go home on the weekend i always cook....and i luv it. _________________ "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent" ... |

Pasta with Salmon and cream...(takes 20 minutes)
1) Chop half an onion into very small pieces as well as some garlic and corriander
2) Chop salmon fillets into very very small pieces
3) Put a pan on the stove and add a little bit of oil and fry the onions and garlic
4) After a minute add the salmon and keep on a low heat...stirring occassionally
5) After 10-15 minutes add the corriander and double cream (to make sauce)
6) Add a little flavouring stock
7) keep on the stove for a few more minutes and then it's ready to serve with pasta (i recommend tagliatelle) |

Lasange:
1. Preheat the over to around 180C . Get one of the previous suugo recipes given by the other sister and prepare it.
2. Soak some pasta sheets in boiling water (depending on the size of the lasagne pan, you'll need 6-9)
3. In a small pan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter
4. Add half a cup of plain flour
5. Stir well for 30 seconds, then add 1 cup of milk. (This mixture is white/beshamel sauce)
6. In a lasange dish, which should be shallow (around 5-6 cms) and rectangular, spread a ladle full of the suugo around.
7. Add 3/4 cup of white sauce and mix it around (doesn't have to be thorough). Even it out, ensuring the sauces are distributed evenly.
8. Put lasange sheets on top, covering the top of the sauce, from edge to edge of the dish, do not overlap the sheets.
9. Repeat step 6 and 7, until all the lasagne sheets are finished.
10. Spread mozarella cheese all over the top, making sure none is hanging over the edge of the dish.
11. Put in over and cook for around 30 minutes, until the cheese is browned (whatever colour you prefer, just make sure it isn't black
)
12. Serve with a simple tomatoe/cucumber/lettuce salad. |

Might I add that men look stoopid as well if they don't know how to cook, even if it is more socially acceptable. Just because we're men doesn't mean we'll have someone to cook for us all our lives, and eating at the somali restaurant every day starts to add up, especially when we're only eating half the plate and throwing the other half in the garbage every time. Some of these brothers don't even know how to make cereal, for crying out loud!! |

N-gal i like your recipe of lasagne, sofar you are the only one that comes close to me as kitchen queen
ps: why the flour and milk mix when there are other alternatives, i would recommend if you did not mind the extra colory maybe a baby potatoes puree mixed with half spoon margherita butter and semi skimmed milk _________________ I do admire your devotion to ME!! |
