Simply Somali Mental Health Campaign

INTRODUCING THE SIMPLY SOMALI MENTAL HEALTH CAMPAIGN

Simply Somali is a website that aims to raise awareness about issues in our community - And not only state that we have an issue but also work towards finding a solution.

Currently in the UK 39% of adults aged 16 to 74 suffer from conditions such as anxiety and depression. In addition, it is well documented in research that migrant communities are at a higher risk of experiencing mental health problems. However, not much is known about the issue of mental health in the Somali community and therefore no one really knows how prevalent of an issue it is. We want to change that.

For the month of April, we want to gather as much information as we can to understand whether a mental health issue exists within the Somali community. We want to particularly hear from young Somalis to understand what is going on so that we can work together to finding a solution.

The first stage of our campaign is a questionnaire. We want to hear your opinions. The questionnaire is completely anonymous so no one will link you to your answers. So please be as honest as you can.

Share this page with all your friends and family so that we can get as many responses as possible.

Thank you!
